Ayahuma Retreat: Where Jungle Lineage Lives

Our story is woven into the canopy, a commitment to preserving the Amazon's raw beauty and its ancient wisdom for generations to come.

Our Founding

Every place has a beginning, and ours started with a journey. Years ago, a Colombian artist who had lost his sense of direction found himself deep in the Peruvian Amazon. There, he came upon an ancient Ayahuma tree, a majestic giant of the rainforest that many Indigenous Amazonian communities regard as a symbol of protection, resilience, and the enduring wisdom of nature. Sitting beneath its vast canopy, he spent days in silence, praying and meditating, asking for guidance. In time, the answers came—not as certainty, but as a calling to create a place of welcome.

What began as a simple shelter soon became an outpost where local neighbors could stop for fresh drinking water, artists could gather to exchange ideas, and travelers could find a safe place to rest. Built with gratitude for the forest and the people who call it home, the space grew organically through shared hands, stories, and friendships.

Today, that humble beginning is evolving into a retreat and hostel on the edge of the Peruvian Amazon—a sanctuary for medicinal plants, creativity, and meaningful connection. While we continue to grow, our roots remain firmly planted in the surrounding communities, guided by the same spirit that first inspired this place: to offer refuge, foster creativity, honor the forest, and welcome all who arrive with an open heart.
